It uses ESRGAN, an AI upscaling model: the photo is enlarged to twice its width and height, edges and fine detail are sharpened and compression noise is cleaned up, and faces get extra detail. Colors and contrast stay as they are.

You can upload a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF up to 10MB. JPG, PNG and WebP photos larger than about 4 megapixels (around 2048 × 2048 pixels) are scaled down to that size first, then upscaled 2x.

Your uploads, prompts and results are saved privately to your history so you can view and download them later, and only you can open them. To create a result, your input is sent to the AI model provider that runs the generation. We do not sell your content or use it to train AI models.
