GPT Image 2 overview

About this model

GPT Image 2 is OpenAI's image generation and editing model. Compared with GPT Image 1.5, which Eidora also offers: GPT Image 2 is the newer version and costs 4 credits an image here, against 8 for GPT Image 1.5, so a free account can use it. We have not measured a quality gap between them, and we found no head-to-head comparison from OpenAI, so we do not claim one is better. Pick GPT Image 2 for the lower price and the newer model; pick GPT Image 1.5 if you already like its look.

  • Follows long, detailed prompts
  • Readable text inside images
  • Edits an uploaded photo from a description
  • 4 credits an image
Best for: Posters, signs, mockups and scenes where the words in the image must be right.
Use Cases

What you can create

GPT Image 2 use case - Posters and Flyers

Posters and Flyers

Event organisers can describe a poster with its headline and date in quotes and get a layout to start from. Check every letter before you print or post it.

Shop and Product Mockups

Small business owners can picture a storefront with its sign, or a product on a clean background, before they pay for a photo shoot or a sign.

Social and Blog Visuals

Creators can make a header image or a post graphic in the shape they need, or upload a photo and change its background.

GPT Image 2 is OpenAI's image model for creating and editing images from text. It is the newer model after GPT Image 1.5 and is known for following detailed prompts and writing readable text in images.
Yes. Your prompt is sent to OpenAI's GPT Image 2 through kie.ai, a model hosting provider. Eidora is not affiliated with OpenAI.
Free to try: a free account starts with 6 credits, enough to try this tool once (4 credits per image), with 2 left over. Free results carry an eidora.io watermark. After that, credits start at $1.99: a new account can buy 40 credits for $1.99 once, within 72 hours of signing up; credit packs start at $4.99 for 100 credits and plans at $9.9/month. Once you have paid, your results have no badge.
GPT Image 2 is the newer model. On Eidora it costs 4 credits an image and runs at 1K resolution, while GPT Image 1.5 costs 8 credits and makes 1024×1024 images, or 1536×1024 and 1024×1536 for wide and tall ones. We have not measured which one looks better, and we found no official side-by-side from OpenAI, so try your prompt on both pages.
Yes. Upload an image and describe the change, for example "replace the background with a beach at sunset". The upload goes to GPT Image 2's edit mode, and the result keeps the shape of your photo.
From text you can pick 1:1, 3:4, 4:3, 9:16, 16:9, 2:3 or 3:2 in the studio before you generate. Edits keep the shape of the photo you upload. The exact pixel size is not published, so we do not list one.
Usually 20 to 60 seconds, a little longer at busy times.
It depends on applicable law and the model provider's current terms. An Eidora plan changes generation limits and history retention; it does not grant extra intellectual-property rights.
Your uploads, prompts and results are saved privately to your history so you can view and download them later, and only you can open them. To create a result, your input is sent to the AI model provider that runs the generation. We do not sell your content or use it to train AI models.
